The Fieldwork Talk Series focuses specifically on the practical, methodological, ethical, and interpersonal realities of ethnographic research. The series creates a space for researchers to discuss not only their findings, but also the difficulties, uncertainties, and decisions that emerge during fieldwork.

Past sessions have addressed ethical challenges in conducting fieldwork with women singers in eastern Khorasan, presented by Taiss Ghayrati; exclusivity and access in musical fieldwork in eastern Khorasan, presented by Arman Najjar; the challenges of conducting research in Persian rap, presented by Hossein Feilizadeh; and fieldwork challenges in central Mazandaran, presented by Solmaz Bazazi.
